The value of informal workplace learning for police education teachers’ professional development

Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore Swedish police education teachers’ informal workplace learning and its perceived value for their professional development. Two categories teachers, teachers university with different knowledge experience, work together at the unit. Design/methodology/approach method used was in-depth interviews working a Findings Informal by both teacher groups be great gaining about local practice Their emerged in discussions, observations practically oriented activities daily work. Four conclusions: firstly, socially practice-oriented collaborative, reciprocal active process. Secondly, embodied nature evident joint teaching practice. Thirdly, it takes time involvement become kind education. Fourthly, an educational structure where academic experience can integrated constitutes important basis development training. Originality/value study’s focus on specific contributes increased social, learning.
